Learn Online Multiplayer Poker from the Ground Up

Want to play some online multiplayer poker? You’re in luck. There are lots of poker sites online that offer good multiplayer environments into which you may inject your online self to play some online multiplayer poker (the multiplayer component being kinda necessary, since poker is, after all, a multiplayer game by nature).

Type in online multiplayer poker on one of your favorite online search engines. You’ll find lots of sites that offer the game up for 24 hour play, either against real opponents or computers and for free or for money. Your options seem limitless.

But how do you play poker? Do you even know? Hopefully so; but if not, here’s a quick refresher on the various poker hands available in this multiplayer game. They run from strongest to weakest.

  • Royal flush: the best of the best poker hand. It’s Ace King Queen Jack Ten in any one given suit. Get this and you win. Show’s over.
  • Straight flush: five sequential cards of any suit. Doesn’t matter which cards or which suit, so long as they’re all the same and run in sequence.
  • Four of a kind: four cards of the same face value.
  • Full house: three cards of the same value plus two more cards of the same value.
  • Flush: a hand containing all cards of the same suit. It doesn’t matter which cards they are so long as the suit is the same for all.
  • Straight: the exact same as a straight flush, though the cards are not of the same suit. The Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten combination of different suits may fall under this category (there is no royal straight, in other words).
  • Three of a kind: three of the same card.
  • Two pair: two pairs of two cards with the same value.
  • Pair: one pair of cards with the same value.
  • High: the worst of the worst hand. Lacking all else, your best card represents your hand. If you have this as your hand then you should fold, and fold quickly.
